Volunteering and Running

Each year we support our friends at Rise as runners take on the 8K race and we filled the course with our brilliant volunteers.

No doubt you saw them along the seafront, heard the cowbells ringing or ran/walked along side them.

See you next year

This summer our club runners have been trying yoga to support their running training

We’re lucky to have a qualified yoga teacher in our club who has been offering free inclusive yoga sessions each Friday.

A great way for us to increase our fitness and recovery, thanks to @yogawithtilda

40 runners signed up for our Beginners and Return to Run course

We’re excited to support them each week on their running journey as they build up to running their first 5k parkrun in July

Over 20 club members volunteered at the Rise 8K as well as many members taking part in the popular women-only race

Rise is an independent, Brighton-based registered charity that helps people affected by domestic abuse.

BHWRC was awarded ‘Club of the Month’ by Women’s Running Magazine.

Recognised for our inclusivity, supportive running environment and excellent sessions, we were delighted to be featured as the club of the month.

Fancy joining us? Get in touch and we hope you can join us on a run soon.

We had a cake to celebrate the running achievements of some of our runners who took part in the London Marathon.

The cake was commissioned and made by a fellow club member and we got together to celebrate their success and inspire more runners to achieve their running goals.

BHWRC held a takeover at Hove Prom parkrun to raise awareness for #timetotalk with pacers from sub 20 to 40 minutes as well as walk jog / tail walkers

Hove prom was a sea of blue runners as club members supported parkrunners reach their running goals and offer an opportunity to raise awareness of World Mental Health Day.

There was also a cake sale raising money for Mind.

BHWRC will take over Hove Prom parkrun for World Mental Health Day – and you’re invited!

Join us on 8th October at 9am for parkrun, where our club members will be taking part as pacers from tail walker to sub 30 minutes for World Mental Health Day.

Register for parkrun in advance (it’s free), take part in parkrun, and stay for breakfast after!

The Beginner’s Running Course returns on 22nd September

Join our qualified, friendly supportive coaches on an 8-week course. You’ll be in good company with other new runners and will enjoy running in Brighton and Hove.

Sign up to join us each Thursday here

A group of club members met down at a local running track to improve technique and learn about running on an athletics track.

Many members tried running on the athletics track for the first time since leaving school. The hour long session gave members experience of running on the track by taking part in friendly relay races and short sprints.

We’ll be heading back soon so get in touch if you want to join us next time!
