We had a cake to celebrate the running achievements of some of our runners who took part in the London Marathon.

The cake was commissioned and made by a fellow club member and we got together to celebrate their success and inspire more runners to achieve their running goals.

BHWRC held a takeover at Hove Prom parkrun to raise awareness for #timetotalk with pacers from sub 20 to 40 minutes as well as walk jog / tail walkers

Hove prom was a sea of blue runners as club members supported parkrunners reach their running goals and offer an opportunity to raise awareness of World Mental Health Day.

There was also a cake sale raising money for Mind.

A group of club members met down at a local running track to improve technique and learn about running on an athletics track.

Many members tried running on the athletics track for the first time since leaving school. The hour long session gave members experience of running on the track by taking part in friendly relay races and short sprints.

We’ll be heading back soon so get in touch if you want to join us next time!

Charity runner and club member prepares for Brighton Marathon

One of our club members will take part in the Brighton Marathon by pushing a hospital trolley bed around the course to raise much needed funds to improve our local A&E department.

Government funding can only go so far and her team wants to support the department by fundraising for state-of-the-art equipment, environmental comforts to enhance the patient experience and to provide specialty staff training.

Club members join the pacing team at the Brighton Half Marathon

This February two club members ran as pacers at the annual Brighton Half Marathon.

By pacing in a time of three hours they were able to support and encourage runners of all abilities who were taking part. Many were taking part for the first time and were able to complete the race in their target time.

Four of this autumn’s beginners course runners took part in Hove Park parkrun

They were supported by BHWRC club members running with them and around the course cheering them on.

They completed their first parkrun with strong finishes and were rewarded with edible medals.

We can’t wait to see more of the beginners course graduates on runs in the new year.
